SINGLE SUSPENSION ENVELOP TYPE- ROD ARCING HORN BOTH SIDE - WITHOUT ARMOUR ROD

The main purpose of this hardware is to hang the conductor/cable to the insulator. The clamps help to link all other fittings and accessories to the tower arms. It promotes safety of the conductor/cable and people by preventing voltage leakage. It enchance the stability of the conductor by limiting their movement, especially against a strong wind, storms and other natural calamities.

Suspension Clamps (Envelope Type) are flexible and moveable along the axis of the conductors only and provide minimum power loss. These type of Clamps are very commonly used in sub-stations.
The clamp body and pressure plate of envolope-type overhanging clamp are made of high-strength aluminium alloy.Traditional cast iron clamps have the disadvantages as large current loss is there, and they are bulky/heavy compared to envelope type suspension clamps.

Arcing horns are projecting conductors used to protect insulators or switch hardware on high voltage electric power transmission systems from damage during lightning strikes and other overvoltage phenomena.

The Arcing horns(Rod Type)comprise a pair of rods having V-shaped outer ends criss crossing one another along one lateral side of the insulator and arranged to form multiple self-extinguishing wiring gaps emanating from the common gap between the spaced apart apexes thereof. The assembly is eminently suited for installation vertically, horizontally or in an inclined position. The hardware components are identical and integral except for fasteners.
